Game development studio The Chinese Room has made 17 new hires in their plan to double in size by 2020.
The Brighton-based studio was acquired by Sumo Digital in August 2018 and has recruited new staff across design, art, animation and programming in the last three months to work on original titles.
The recent hires include John McCormack as art director, who previously work at Lionhead and EA.
鈥淚鈥檓 delighted to have such a range of new talent and experience on board, and we鈥檙e not done yet,鈥 said Ed Daly, studio director.
鈥淚t鈥檚 been particularly rewarding to have so many talented people show their passion for joining The Chinese Room and for the games we will be making here.鈥
Dan Pinchbeck, creative director, added: 鈥淲e鈥檙e hard at work on a great new game and it鈥檚 fantastic to have brought together such an amazing bunch of talented developers to help realise it.
鈥淲e鈥檝e got a brilliant mix of industry veterans and rising stars and it鈥檚 really exciting to see the studio keep evolving and growing.鈥
The Chinese Room is best known for creating experimental first-person games such as Dear Esther, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture and So Let Us Melt.
