UK staffing platform HireHand has said it will launch a 拢1m crowdfund to power its latest expansion plans.

Founded in 2015 by CEO Scott Erwin, the platform aims to help workers on fill gaps in their working schedules to give boost income.

The London firm has established itself in capital鈥檚 foot and drink sector, having worked with Patty&Bun, London Cocktail Club and Breddos Tacos, to offer a pool of front and back of house workers.

It also works with companies including The Prince鈥檚 Trust, Fight for Peace, and Jamie Oliver鈥檚 Fifteen sector, to increase its talent pool and offer opportunities to people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Its latest 拢1m crowdfunding raise, which it said would appear on the Seedrs platform, will be used to expand into the US and to target employers and employees in new sectors.

鈥淟ondon has seen a rise in the number of so-called 鈥渨orking poor鈥 despite improvements in unemployment, and HireHand is designed to help those people gain work which fits their schedule to increase their earnings,鈥 Erwin told PA.

鈥淭he funding will partly go towards moving into the construction sector, because that is an area which faces many of the same challenges we鈥檝e seen working in food and events.

鈥淚t鈥檚 all about ensuring the platform helps people find work that suits them, that is flexible enough for modern workers and companies.鈥

The firm has previously raised a total of 拢825,000 through seed and angel investment and recently revealed its 鈥楶eak鈥 feature, which allows businesses to organise more staff during busy periods.
