A carbon capture technology firm has been awarded 拢2 million funding from Innovate UK鈥檚 Sustainable Innovation Fund.听

CCm听Technologies鈥檚听tech听can accelerate emissions reduction efforts in some of the hardest sectors to decarbonise like agriculture.

The听funding听will enable听CCm听to develop new modular units that will accelerate emission-producing industries鈥 ability to capture CO2 and produce zero carbon fertilisers.

CCm听will collaborate with the UK鈥檚 pioneering Advanced Thermal Conversion (ATC) lead, KEW Technology, to maximise value for both technologies in terms of sustainability and carbon abatement.

The mobile and highly adaptable technology will allow the CCUS units to operate onsite enabling the integration of CCUS technologies in the waste and fertiliser industries.

Pawel Kisielewski, CEO of听CCm听Technologies,听commented:听鈥淲e are delighted to have been awarded this contract from听government.听This will now allow us to demonstrate the technology at industrial scale in this rapidly growing biochar sector.听

鈥淚t is great to see the听government showing support for innovative solutions that are key to reaching the UK net zero target.鈥澨

Kevin Chown, COO of KEW Technology,听said:听鈥淲e are very excited to be working with听CCm听Technologies on this Innovate UK project.听

鈥淭his is a brilliant opportunity for the UK to showcase itself as a leader in net zero and for us to demonstrate the role that technologies such as Advanced Thermal Conversion can have in achieving this and fuelling a world beyond fossil fuels.鈥
