A听non-profit social history initiative is launching a crowdfunding campaign with the aim of raising 拢700,000 to support the launch of its voice-controlled AI biography device.听听
The听Augr听device is designed to talk, listen, interview听and record users as they reminisce about their past, to produce a broadcast quality recording of their life story.听听
Developed by a team of experts, drawing on AI technology used by Cortana and Alexa, the technology is programmed to respond to the听users鈥� voice. The device听even听initiates conversations to help draw out people鈥檚 wonderful stories from the past.听
Early backers of the听Augr听campaign can pledge their support for under 拢130. In exchange,听the听organisation says they will receive an audio biography package worth 拢600, including听the听Augr听audio biography device听itself听and a guaranteed lifetime membership to听BiogSpace.听
BiogSpace听is听a cloud-based personal biography space where听they can upload recordings, curate stories and then choose who to share them with 鈥� friends, family or just themselves.听听
They can also add other biographical details like photographs, written materials or anything else that helps to illustrate the story.听听
The development comes after听Augr听found that听a majority of听people have stories from their past that no one knows about and that many worry these stories will die with them. Over 70%听of people believe it鈥檚 important to keep loved ones鈥� memories alive after they鈥檝e passed.听听
