Nominet, the public benefit company that runs and protects the .UK internet infrastructure, has appointed Oliver Tweedie as its new chief technology officer.

Tweedie will be responsible for developing and implementing Nominet鈥檚 technology strategy for its registry and cyber services.聽

Tweedie was executive director for technology and interim CIO for the Bank of England, responsible for all aspects of technology and programme delivery.聽

Prior to the Bank of England, he was a technology director at Sky where he built national-scale internet service provider and analytics systems. He was responsible for the development of Sky Broadband during its growth phase, including the engineering behind a more family-friendly internet experience.
