Birdie has appointed Dr. Malte Gerhold as chief integrated care officer.
AXA-backed Birdie is aiming to improve the lives of a million older adults in five years.
The CQC Strategy & Intelligence chief will support the management team in spearheading and executing a proactive and person-centred integrated care model for older adults.
Dr Gerhold worked for six years at the CQC and was responsible for setting out the organisation鈥檚 five-year strategy.
He was an advisor at the Prime Minister鈥檚 Delivery Unit before being appointed deputy director of the Strategy Unit at the Department of Health.
Earlier in his career, he spent some time in Sierra Leone, advising the government on its delivery priorities including health, energy and private sector investment.
Dr Gerhold commented: 鈥淎fter more than six fantastic years, I have decided to leave CQC to seek a very different challenge.
