On-premises food and drink order-and-pay application FETCH has appointed entrepreneur and investor Hamish Morjaria as chairman.
FETCH has been installed across restaurants, pubs, bars and sports stadiums. The startup says it is in progressive talks with global hotel groups about adopting the app.聽
Morjaria has held senior leadership roles in global technology,聽 distribution, wholesale and retail companies for the last 20 years, and will aim to further catapult FETCH towards its Series A round.聽
Morjaria, who was an early investor in the app, said: 鈥淲hat I really like about FETCH is it plays in a sector that is going through a significant period of disruption.聽
鈥淭he traditional model for checkout is changing, and that鈥檚 across retail, hospitality, and food and beverage.聽
鈥淚 think it鈥檚 relatively clear in a period of time that the traditional model – queuing up at a till point or hailing a waiter to pay a bill –聽 is going to change.聽
鈥淭echnology will be the instigator of that change, which we鈥檝e already seen with the likes of Amazon Go and the retail model in Apple shops.聽
鈥淧eople and large companies are trying to disrupt that model but only provide a piece of the solution, whereas FETCH has the whole package.鈥�

The business went into overfunding within hours of its second Seedrs campaign going live, and is over 200% funded.
