Channel 4 has appointed Janine Smith as its new digital content director.
Smith was previously ITV鈥檚 head of digital entertainment and will head the digital content unit at Channel 4.
Based at the broadcaster鈥檚 new national headquarters in Leeds, she will look to engage and influence young audiences.
Matt Risley, head of the DCU, said: 鈥淛anine is an award-winning director with a proven track record in leading and executing industry-leading content campaigns, and I鈥檓 delighted she鈥檚 joined our team.鈥
Smith will lead the DCU鈥檚 content and delivery teams to ensure Channel 4鈥檚 social output is “at the forefront of the digital landscape” while also heading recruitment.
