Coding school Cypher has closed a funding round of 拢225k in investment following a period of growth in which it has pivoted to online classes.
The round, led by a series of angel investors, takes Cypher鈥檚 total raise to 拢670k.
Cypher was founded in 2016 by serial entrepreneur Elizabeth Tweedale.
Cypher offers creatively themed coding camps for children aged 5 to 14 with the aim of inspiring children to learn coding, computational thinking, problem solving and communication.
Recently, the business pivoted its offering entirely online days before the lockdown was enforced.
In the past months Cypher has worked with over 350 children, who have completed more than 3,700 learning hours online.
The round of funding will be used to accelerate the company鈥檚 growth, by scaling these online camps alongside Cypher鈥檚 in-person offering this summer.
On the investment, CEO Elizabeth Tweedale said: 鈥淭hroughout lockdown our aim has been to keep children learning and engaged, as the ability for children to learn how to code is key in preparing them for their futures.
