Former DeepMind scientistProf. Stephen Clark has joinedCambridge Quantum Computing.

CQC, whichbuilds tools for the commercialisation of quantum technologies, said Prof. Clark has beenappointedHead ofArtificial Intelligence.

Until recently, Prof. Clark was a Senior Staff Research Scientist at DeepMind in London,where he led a team working on grounded language learning in virtualenvironments.

He also holds an Honorary Professorship at Queen Mary Universityof London.

Prior to starting at DeepMind in October 2016, Prof. Clark spent 10 years as a member of faculty at theUniversity of Cambridge Department of Computer Science andTechnology, where he wasaReader in Natural Language Processing.

Before that he wasa member of faculty at the Oxford University Department of Computer Science, and aFellow of Keble College, Oxford.

Prof. Clark holds a PhD in Computer Science andArtificial Intelligence from the University of Sussex, and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophyfrom the University of Cambridge (Gonville and Caius College).
