, the automated vehicle inspection expert, has secured a 拢500,000 grant funded project from Innovate UK聽for a project that will see the company develop another revolutionary automated inspection system.
Innovate UK’s Smart competition – which DeGould took part in – is incredibly competitive and has just a 6% success rate across the last five iterations, awarding 拢885m to the most groundbreaking and disruptive companies in the UK.
Loise Teigao (pictured), senior business analyst at DeGould, led the funding application and is overseeing the project.
鈥淚nnovate UK鈥檚 funding recognises the potential for our world-first automated inspection system to accelerate , making the process completely automated, non-contact and fully integrated into their production process,” she said.
鈥淲e have had a huge demand for this technology from existing customers – including Ford, JLR, Bentley, Rolls Royce, and Toyota – so we鈥檙e thrilled to be underway with this project, with the support of Innovate UK.鈥
With significant wider impact, the project will increase DeGould’s highly-skilled workforce within the UK. Car manufacturers (OEMs) are also expected to achieve significant cost savings, exceeding 拢915,000 per year through the early detection of defects (拢575k) and increased productivity (拢340k).
The news follows the recent appointment of Mathew Holloway as CEO, marking an accelerated period of growth for a company which recently featured in the top 10 of 老九品茶Cloud’s TransportTech 50 innovation ranking.

DeGould鈥檚 automated inspection system project will run from February 2022 to April 2023, with the Innovate UK funding covering 70% of the total project cost.
