A tech jobs platform which connects candidates with market-leading companies has raised 拢15 million.
London-based Otta provides what it terms a 鈥榗andidate-first job search鈥. It has onboarded jobs from 4,000 companies in the two years since launch and recently expanded to the US.
It has more than 70,000 jobs available on its platform and connects candidates with the likes of Airbnb, Cazoo, Deliveroo, Depop, Dropbox, Github, Gousto, Hopin, Klarna, Monzo, Netflix, Revolut, Spill, Spotify and Starling Bank.
鈥淭o attract the best talent in this market, companies need to work towards making job search less-soul crushing,鈥 explained co-founder and CEO Sam Franklin in a blog post.
鈥淐andidates need to see salary ranges so they can make better choices. They don’t want applications to be ghosted, or to be rejected after an interview without feedback.
鈥淭he job you choose is so central to your fulfillment, wealth and relationships. How can the experience of moving jobs be so poor?聽
鈥淲e believe it鈥檚 because the industry has prioritised the company filling a vacancy, and has left candidates feeling like second-class citizens.鈥
Since raising its first funding in December 2019, it has grown to a team of 35. The Series A round was led by Tiger Global Management.
鈥淲e now enter Phase 2 of product development, where we鈥檙e launching programmes to incentivise companies to take action. It鈥檚 time for them to step up and put candidates first, rather than just talk about it,鈥 continued Franklin.
鈥淚n addition to product development, we鈥檒l be pushing the accelerator on scale. We鈥檒l be using 2022 to go deeper in the US, where we鈥檝e already had strong traction, 鈥嬧媋nd next up are the tech hubs across Europe.
鈥淭o achieve this scale we鈥檙e planning to grow the team 2-3x in 2022. We鈥檒l be building an on-the-ground team in the US, doubling our product and engineering team in London, and making key hires like US GM, people director and chief of staff.鈥
