Compound learning platform听Mindstone听has raised 拢1.6 million.听
Founded by the creator of听SuperAwesome,听the London firm听focuses on compound learning, a concept rooted in increasing the connections between new and existing knowledge to help听people听learn faster and remember more.听
The platform lets听users听organise, share and take notes on web pages, PDFs and academic papers. It draws together their highlights and automatically generated flashcards, accelerating the learning process, making use of spaced repetition听and听fast feedback loops.听
The听seed round听was听led by听Moonfire听Ventures听while The Fund, Zanichelli Venture &听Nex.D also participated in the round, as well as a series of angels including former co-founders at听SuperAwesome.听
CEO Joshua Whole, who previously co-founded听SuperAwesome听鈥� the EdTech听recently acquired by听Fornite听creator听Epic Games 鈥� founded听Mindstone听in March 2020, the first week of UK lockdown,听with Patrick Cootes, Florian听Zysset, Melody Lang and Stefan Keranov.听听

鈥�Mindstone听are reinventing the learning process rather than simply shifting offline classroom experience online but aim to use online first solutions that also receive the benefit of the power of the crowds.鈥�听
Mindstone听is currently being used by students and professionals wanting to accelerate their own learning, as well as institutions as diverse as听Techstars听to build courses on scaling听early stage听companies and Queen鈥檚 College London to facilitate group work during distance learning.听
鈥淲e tested听Mindstone听with the听Techstars听London batch this year 鈥� sharing relevant articles and content week by week during the program. It was incredibly helpful to be able to annotate things and have reminders and notifications sent to the founders to keep them updated with articles that were useful for them at that specific moment of the program,鈥� said Eamonn Carey,听managing听director at听Techstars.听
