JPIMedia, which owns the i newspaper and the聽Yorkshire Post among others, has appointed聽digital specialist聽Parm Sandhu as chairman of its board.
The company was formed in November last year after Johnston Press went into administration.
Sandhu spent seven years as chief executive of German telecoms business Unitymedia. He聽also served as a non-executive director of Eircom for six years from 2012, following its exit from an Irish administration process to聽a successful sale.
He is currently chairman of Greek telecoms group Wind Hellas and a non-executive director at Central European Media, a news-led free-to-air broadcaster in Central and Eastern Europe, and Hibu, the digital marketing business that was formed out of Yell.
