A North East tech specialist has doubled sales revenues in the last 12 months following a raft of major contract wins across the region鈥檚 manufacturing, hospitality and education sectors.
Providing technology support services including cybersecurity, data networks, and IP camera and access control systems to regional and national organisations from its Follingsby Park-based head office in Gateshead, Advantex has seen turnover increase to 拢12 million in FY24.
The firm, which also reports a healthy forward order book for the next two years, has also seen a host of new starters join since the start of the year, boosting current workforce numbers to 70 people to support technical operations, customer service and sales.
The expansion comes as a result of increased demand in the market and ongoing investment to deliver enhanced systems and technical expertise, including the recently launched DMARC service to provide greater network and email safety and security for clients.
Advantex continues to support the region鈥檚 education sector, helping dozens of schools and Multi Academy Trusts including Advance Learning Partnership, Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust and Inspire Multi Academy Trust to improve their online services and digital infrastructure.
Work at AESC鈥檚 new EV battery new gigafactory in Sunderland and IT network refreshes at Darlington鈥檚 5-star Rockliffe Hall, Northumberland Estates and Yorkshire soft drinks manufacturer and supplier Cawingredients, have been provided.
The firm will continue to invest in its workforce creating upwards of 15 new frontline technical and engineering and office roles in the coming months, leading to a 30% increase in numbers by the end of next year.
This will include additional data cabling engineers and technicians to support frontline operations, while further sales, help line, project management, operational and admin staff will join to support current and new customers.
Highlighting continued strong growth and recruitment, Dave O鈥機onnell, operations and finance director and co-founder of Advantex, said in the last financial year the company had strengthened its position, investing to support the completion of key projects.
He added: 鈥淚n the last year we have created a strong platform for expansion and business development, with initiatives essential to deliver our ambitious plans for growth on the back of new contracts.聽
鈥淲e understand the importance of continual business development, recognising that within our current infrastructure, there is even more potential for success in both current and new markets in the upcoming years.
鈥淲e are seeing strong performances across all our operations with sustainable growth in current markets and exciting expansion into new ones, notably renewables and sustainability. We look forward to building on this with further new work and expansion on all fronts.
鈥淭he rapid development of technology is one of the key characteristics of modern life. We are helping our customers to navigate their way through the digital age with added value, potent technologies and solutions, making life for people easier and more enriching.鈥
