Global EdTech company BYJU鈥橲 has appointed Stephen Jull as vice president of business development for the UK.聽
BYJU鈥橲 has grown at a rapid pace since it was founded 10 years ago, logging more than 80 million users worldwide. Last year the company boosted its online course offerings with the acquisitions of Akash Educational Service, Great Learning, Epic and Tynker, while it also launched in the UK.
Jull will lead the UK business, accelerate growth and advance the company鈥檚 mission to make high-quality learning accessible to students everywhere.聽
The appointment follows a successful launch of the company鈥檚 flagship online learning platform, BYJU鈥橲 FutureSchool, in the UK last year. BYJU鈥橲 FutureSchool brings live, online coding, maths and music courses to children aged 6-18.
Jull joins from GeoGebra, a recent acquisition by BYJU鈥橲, where he was part of the founding team which sought to revolutionise mathematics education. Under his leadership as COO and CFO, GeoGebra recorded double digit YoY revenue growth.
鈥淏YJU鈥橲 are thrilled to have Stephen on board with us to build our UK business,鈥 said Pravin Prakash, chief people officer at BYJU’S.聽
鈥淲ith Stephen at the helm, we鈥檙e doubling down on our commitment to the UK market. Stephen will not only accelerate our growth, but further our mission to bring interactive, engaging learning to children across the UK.鈥

Jull began his career in the classroom, teaching remote communities in Canada鈥檚 far north. He later earned his PhD at the University of Cambridge as a Cambridge Commonwealth Trust Scholar.
鈥淢y entire career has been dedicated to improving and innovating education, from both in and outside of the classroom, and with my new role at BYJU鈥橲, I鈥檝e found an opportunity to shape the future of learning in the UK,鈥 he said.聽
鈥淲hile this certainly isn鈥檛 without its challenges, including the impact of the pandemic on learning and the demand to learn digital skills, BYJU鈥橲 mission matches my own 鈥 ensuring all students have access to high-quality learning.
鈥淚鈥檝e spent the last decade developing teams and creating partnerships that deliver true innovation in teaching and learning technology at scale. Joining BYJU鈥橲 is an incredible opportunity to shape the future of EdTech, and I鈥檓 looking forward to supporting the company鈥檚 dynamic growth in the UK.鈥
