Global software provider Civica has acquired clinical e-scheduling specialist Malinko Health & Care Technologies.
Civica said the deal for the Manchester company further enhances its market leadership in cloud-based solutions for the public sector.
Malinko鈥檚 solution allows healthcare professionals to coordinate a single patient鈥檚 care across multiple organisations including NHS trusts, charities and local authorities, directly supporting the NHS Long Term Plan to deliver more healthcare in the community.
Complementing Civica鈥檚 existing suite of Electronic Patient Record solutions including Paris, Malinko allows healthcare providers to match clinical skills with specific patient needs, to help ensure the best possible healthcare outcomes.聽
Users of the software also benefit from improved service delivery, workforce planning, staff safety and reduced clinical risk and cost.
鈥淢alinko鈥檚 innovative e-scheduling solution perfectly complements our growing software offering across the health and care sectors, where our market-leading solutions already support more than 400 organisations in delivering better outcomes for patients,鈥 said Wayne Story, group CEO at Civica.
“With the new capabilities provided by Malinko, we will also be in a strong position to support the UK Government in delivering on the ambitions set down in the NHS Long Term Plan, to ensure seamless collaboration between health and care organisations and greater levels of care in the community.”聽
Rob McGovern, co-founder of Malinko, added: 鈥淲hen Andrew Threlfall and I agreed to work together in 2016, our dream was to build a clinical system which helps the NHS and local authorities move services from bricks and mortar to the community.
鈥淲e鈥檙e very proud of the success Malinko has had to date, and now it鈥檚 time to move faster. Civica will help Malinko to scale without losing the heart of what makes Malinko special.聽
鈥淥ur culture is supportive and collaborative, and our people care deeply about community services, so it is important to be part of an organisation that shares these aims and values.
“Personally, this is an enormously proud moment for me that Malinko is now part of Civica and I鈥檓 looking forward to working with our new colleagues to ensure the 2020鈥檚 becomes the decade of community services.”
