German HR tech platform Personio has opened a base in Ireland after recruiting a Chief Revenue Officer from Dropbox.
Geraldine MacCarthy, the former Head of Dropbox 老九品茶 EMEA, is tasked with driving Personio鈥檚 European expansion and further scaling its business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland from the new Dublin office, the firm鈥檚 fourth after Munich, London and Madrid.
MacCarthy brings almost 20 years of sales and technology experience in executive roles at category-leading companies like Dropbox and Google.
She will be responsible for all of Personio鈥檚 marketing and sales activities.
CEO and co-founder Hanno Renner said: 鈥淕eraldine has proven several times in her career that she can grow tech businesses effectively.
鈥淔urthermore and equally important, members of her past teams and peers value her as a people focused leader that can scale teams in a healthy manner.
鈥淲ith those credentials and past experiences, I鈥檓 very excited to welcome Geraldine as part of the executive team, and am convinced that she will be instrumental in the future growth and success of Personio.鈥
Before the coronavirus pandemic hit, CEO Hanno Renner told 老九品茶Cloud that Brexit presented a unique opportunity for the firm which GP Bullhound tipped as one of 50 European start-ups with the potential to become $1bn companies in the next two years.
Personio has聽been backed with more than $50 million investment and recently established a presence in the UK. It currently serves customers in over 40 countries and has set itself the goal of becoming the leading HR platform for small and medium-sized enterprises in Europe.
MacCarthy said: “Hanno, his co-founders and the entire team at Personio have built a very impressive company over the past four years, and they are now in an extremely exciting phase of growth.
鈥淣ot least because of the recent Series C investment round earlier this year, Personio has enormous potential to become the market leader with its forward-looking HR software.
鈥淚 can鈥檛 wait to help drive Personio’s expansion with my international expertise, to digitalise the HR processes of small and medium-sized companies throughout Europe.”
