Indian tech giant听HCL Tech plans to hire 1,000 tech professionals in the UK in the coming months.

The roles will be across听digital transformation, cloud, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity for its London, Greater London and Manchester offices.

India’s third largest IT firm, it currently employs 3,500 people in the UK after launching here in 1997.

HCL Tech CEO C Vijayakumar, who held a听virtual meeting with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, said:听鈥淭he UK has played a key role in HCL鈥檚 growth and success journey for more than two decades. It is home to some of our most prestigious clients and is a hotbed of IT talent.听

By creating new local jobs in the region, we want to reaffirm our commitment to听catalysing innovation and building competitive digital talent pools in the region.

HCL Tech, which generates more than $10 billion annually, has a听worldwide network of R&D facilities and co-innovation labs.

It delivers services across industry verticals to leading enterprises, including 250 of the Fortune 500.

Another Indian IT giant,听Infosys, is also hiring 1,000 people听with digital skills听in the UK.
