A London-based LegalTech startup founded by lawyers and technologists has raised 拢550,000 as it attempts to transform how individuals and businesses across the UK handle small claims.

Co-founded by AQLO founder Michael Iatsukha, CaseCraft.AI secured the investment in a round led by Mount Fund, which contributed 拢300,000.

The company has built a proprietary platform that helps users file and defend small claims through a streamlined, AI-assisted process.

It is designed to resolve disputes before they ever reach court, using early dispute resolution techniques to avoid unnecessary legal costs and delays.

鈥淢y litigation background showed me how confusing and costly small claims can be for people,鈥 said Iatsukha.聽

鈥淭he fact that, in many cases, claimants or defendants end up paying more in legal fees – which cannot be recovered – than the value of the claim itself is unfair. We wanted to promote and broaden access to justice – hence CaseCraft.鈥

The idea for CaseCraft.AI was born from Iatsukha鈥檚 frustrations as a practising solicitor, where he repeatedly saw the gap between how the system was supposed to work and how people actually experienced it.

Iatsukha previously co-founded AQLO, a legal and accounting firm designed for startups, which ditched hourly billing in favour of a simpler, more transparent fee model.

The funding will be used to refine the platform, expand the team and ramp up marketing efforts to reach users across the UK.

Iatsukha continued: 鈥淐aseCraft.AI is not about replacing lawyers, it鈥檚 about using the best of technology to reduce friction, lower costs, and put power in the hands of claimants and defendants.

鈥淲e are at a pivotal moment in the application of technology to professional services and consumer solutions.

鈥淭his is just the beginning of the value AI can unlock, helping users achieve more with fewer resources.鈥

Laert Karaashev, head of VC at Mount Fund, added:鈥淲e are proud to support CaseCraft.AI in its journey to bring innovation to the UK鈥檚 small claims process.

鈥淏y making the system more accessible and efficient through cutting-edge AI, the platform has the potential to become a true champion for consumers. We look forward to supporting its continued growth.鈥
