Leading tech scale-ups double Manchester headquarters

Technology

Two of Manchester鈥檚 leading tech scale ups have more than doubled the size of their operations in the city.

Facial animation software company Cubic Motion and AI company DigitalBridge will continue their growth journeys at the Bright Building at Manchester Science Park.

Multi-award winning Cubic Motion, which has provided the facial animation software behind blockbuster video games such as Hellblade, and Call of Duty, has seen rapid growth in the past 10 years.

Founded in 2009, the company has flourished since moving to Manchester, attracting significant investment, and more than doubling its headcount. It now employs a team of more than 100 tech workers, including computer vision researchers, engineers, animators and producers.

Also relocating to the Bright Building is DigitalBridge; a pioneering tech company which utilises AI to enable people to virtually design a bathroom or kitchen. Its technology has already been backed by high street giant John Lewis.

Their continued expansion has seen them take 7,300 sq ft of space in the Bright Building.

鈥淐ubic Motion and DigitalBridge are established names in Manchester鈥檚 digital tech sector and are quickly making their names known across the country too,鈥 said Tom Renn, Managing Director, Manchester Science Partnerships (MSP).

鈥淭hey now employ hundreds of the digital industry鈥檚 brightest minds and are integral members of the MSP community. Both companies stand as blueprints for tech scaleup success, which other promising startups can draw inspiration from.鈥

Andy Wood, president of Cubic Motion, added: 鈥淲e have always felt privileged to be amongst the wealth of innovative, creative and global companies based at Manchester Science Park.鈥
