Legendary Formula One team Ferrari has finally announced a move into eSports.
The Italian manufacturer will become the tenth and final team to join F1 Pro Series this year.
Qualifying for the third season of the eSports series is already underway ahead of the Pro Draft, which will take place over two days in July.
The Pro Series itself will see 12 races contested over four live events between September and December.
鈥淚t鈥檚 incredibly exciting to welcome all 10 teams to take part in the 2019 F1 New Balance Esports Series for the first time,鈥 said Julian Tan, Formula One鈥檚 head of growth and F1 Esports.
鈥淟ast year saw amazing growth for the series and with the commitment of Ferrari completing the virtual grid, we continue to elevate the series to greater heights as we further align our virtual and real world sports, creating one of the world鈥檚 most innovative eSports offerings whether in motorsports or beyond.鈥
Series operator Gfinity said there were 5.5 million viewers for the series last year across all platforms.
