A Liverpool-based litigation FinTech has secured a 拢600 million facility for strategic expansion.

Sandfield Capital, which provides loans to individuals and law firms pursuing legal claims, has secured the facility from Perspective Investments to be deployed over the next three to five years.

Founded in 2020, the firm has offices in Liverpool and London. It works with claimants and legal firms to cover the costs of litigation through a disbursement loan, which is repaid from the settlement if the case is won.

It handles claims for housing disrepair, military deafness, mortgage and interest miscalculation and undisclosed commissions. It is currently considering bank fraud, business energy, motor finance, and tenancy deposit claims to widen its portfolio.

Sandfield says its lending management system Eaziclaim streamlines civil litigation funding from inception to settlement and manages tens of thousands of cases simultaneously by integrating with panel law firms and third-party systems including insurers.

Its automation features handle critical processes like documentation checks, disbursement calculations and supplier payments, ensuring compliance, minimising errors and enabling instant lending approvals.

Sandfield says the facility is conditional on suitable claims for funding being identified, while it will enable the firm to expand its legal panel and the range of claims it handles.聽

It follows three fundraises in the last 12 months totalling 拢30.5m.

Securing a new location for its Liverpool operations centre together with a recruitment drive for new staff are key objectives for the first half of 2025.

鈥淭his new facility presents significant opportunities for Sandfield and is testament to our business model,鈥 said Steven D鈥橝mbrosio, CEO.聽

鈥淜ey to our strategy to deploy the facility is expanding our legal panel. There鈥檚 no shortage of quality law firms specialising in this area and we are keen to develop further strong and symbiotic relationships.

鈥淧erspective Investments see the considerable opportunities and bring a wealth of experience in institutional investment with a strong track record.鈥

Arno Kitts, founder and chief investment officer of Perspective Investments, added: 鈥淪andfield Capital鈥檚 business model includes a bespoke lending platform with the ability to integrate seamlessly with law firms鈥 systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and underwriting standards.

鈥淭his technology enables claims to be processed rapidly whilst all loans are fully insured so that if a claim is unsuccessful, the individual claimant has nothing to pay.聽

鈥淭his is an excellent investment proposition for Perspective Investments and we are looking forward to working with the management team who have a track record of continuously evolving the business to meet growing client needs.鈥
