National enterprise InnovateHer, which aims to improve gender balance in the tech sector, has appointed the CEO of Code Computerlove as a non-executive director.

InnovateHer aims gives girls aged 12-16 years old the self-belief and skills they need to pursue a career in technology.

Foggett has been involved in InnovateHer since last summer and will now provide additional support to the organisation to help it realise its vision.

Acting as a mentor and member of its advisory board, Foggett has been helping the Manchester and Liverpool based team develop its educational and coaching programmes.

Code Computerlove is a partner business within the InnovateHer partner network, and its staff work closely with its partner network to ensure that they are inclusive places to work.

Jo Morfee, co-founder of InnovateHer said Foggett’s input had been invaluable to the enterprise.

鈥淭ony brings more than 20 years鈥 experience of working in the digital sector and some brilliant insights from his experience of growing a business successfully,鈥 she said.

鈥淚t鈥檚 vital we encourage girls to consider careers within the technology sector at a young age and digital leadership experts such as Tony can make a huge impact on these decisions.鈥

Foggett added: 鈥淲hat鈥檚 clear to me now is the role companies need to play in adapting 鈥 creating cultures that nurture everyone鈥檚 development and work life.

“It鈥檚 not just a case of helping girls be digitally ready, but ensuring that businesses are ready for girls.

鈥淲e need have to have role models within our businesses and at every level be a place where they belong. I鈥檓 delighted to be a part of this journey with InnovateHer as I think they will make a lasting and sustainable impact with the model they鈥檝e developed.鈥
