A new Manchester co-working space for creative and commercial companies has confirmed its first set of tenants.
Located in Ardwick, Use.Space will offer work areas and support for 134 members, who will have access to resources including 10,000 sq ft of production facilities for film, video and voice.
The building has a strong push on being sustainable, with over 600 plants around the building and using recyclable materials.
Companies who are the first to sign up for space are Paus.tv, a media start-up for YouTubers; Nudge, a behavioural science start-up; Little Black Dress, an online retailer of ladies party-wear; and A La Mode, a fashion brand.
鈥淲e鈥檙e absolutely delighted to welcome our first members to our new campus,鈥 said Use. Space founder David Walter.
鈥淭hey are united by a shared sense of flair, imagination and drive. Many co-working spaces can de dominated by a very masculine ethos, but at Use.Space we are making conscious decisions about our curated community to promote inclusivity and diversity with a fair balance where everyone feels welcome.
鈥淪ustainability and wellbeing are key priorities for us too and we are employing biophillic design incorporating elements of nature, plants and the outdoors.
鈥淧lus, all our cutlery, plates, coffee cups and straws will be 100 per cent plant-based and compostable and we鈥檒l be running regular sustainability activities to inspire our members to ensure we all do our bit for the environment.
鈥淲ith 30 per cent of our space already filled, and with many more enquiries coming in, we鈥檙e well on our way to reaching our aim of establishing a buzzing hive of innovation and creativity in the regenerated Ardwick area.鈥
Simon Stone joins the team as community manager for Use.Space and will be responsible for supporting and empowering members, and ensuring a productive and happy working environment.
The 14,000 sq ft space shares the same campus as Seventy7 – the international creative content agency Walter also runs – providing members access to some of the city鈥檚 creative professionals.
Use.Space members can also expect a busy calendar of in-house events that offer insight into how to successfully scale and grow firms.
