Australian firm SafetyCulture, which has its UK base in Manchester, has closed an 拢85 million round of funding which values the company at 拢1.3 billion.

In the UK alone, SafetyCulture鈥檚 workplace operations platform is used by more than 25,000 businesses to enable better working practices and boost productivity.聽

Its Manchester office houses SafetyCulture鈥檚 growing EMEA team as it expands its customer base, which already includes the NHS, National Grid, British Airways and Transport for London.

The funding round, which sees SafetyCulture become a unicorn, was led by Airtree Ventures and joined by existing investors Blackbird and Morpheus Ventures.

“We have now closed this round and are excited about the opportunities it creates for us to accelerate our growth and help even more customers,鈥 said founder and CEO Luke Anear.聽

鈥淚t鈥檚 a tough environment to be raising in, but we鈥檙e proud of the results the business is delivering and pleased that we can continue to create regular liquidity events for early investors and long-term employees.鈥

The launch of SafetyCulture鈥檚 workplace operations platform in October 2023 introduced new capabilities in training, asset management, sensors and IoT functionality.聽

鈥淲e鈥檝e only scratched the surface when it comes to transforming frontline work,鈥 said Anear. 鈥淔ew tech companies have our direct reach to frontline workers across so many different industries, so we have both a responsibility and a massive opportunity to create significant change for these people.

鈥淲e鈥檝e built the world’s largest repository of workplace data, containing over 5 petabytes of data and billions of images.聽

鈥淎I is the way we can make sense of that information, and if we can harness it properly, we鈥檒l effectively be able to give frontline teams superpowers that will completely change the way they work.鈥

Kell Reilly, partner at Airtree Ventures, said: 鈥淗aving tracked SafetyCulture鈥檚 journey to date, now is an opportune time to join them at this inflection point.聽

鈥淪afetyCulture has all the hallmarks of Silicon Valley鈥檚 tech heavyweights鈥揳 compelling vision, product, scale and team. We鈥檙e excited to partner with another Aussie success story that鈥檚 making waves on the global stage.鈥
