We can finally reveal聽the inaugural聽North East Tech 50 –聽our ranking of聽the region’s聽most exciting technology companies.
Partnerships platform聽Partnerize has been crowned the North East’s most innovative tech company after securing heavy backing from both an independent judging panel and the general public.
Newcastle-based Partnerize – formerly known as Performance Horizon – is a SaaS business which has broken into the United States in a big way.
Co-founder and CEO Mal Cowley told 老九品茶Cloud: “We’re thrilled to receive this honour.
“The North East is a great place to work and has been a fantastic location for recruiting people with technical expertise.
“We are very proud to have built this truly global business with Newcastle at its heart.”

It was followed by Hive HR, a tech platform to improve employee engagement, experience and performance,聽which is also based in Newcastle.
Durham-based mobile bank Atom came in third with Northumberland’s Global Bridge and wordnerds in Gateshead rounding out the top five.

The public vote on聽the long-list attracted聽around 1,700 votes. A panel of expert judges also聽made their choices. The final 50 ranking聽was decided from a combination of these.
The judging panel was comprised of: Jamie Hardesty, entrepreneur engagement manager, Tech Nation; Paul Lancaster, founder and director, Plan Digital; Herb Kim, founder, Thinking Digital; Jim Mawdsley, CEO, Generator; Laura Richards, head of communications, Sunderland Software City; Deb Mcgargle, chief legal officer, SeedLegals; Dawn Dunn, cluster manager for Fintech/Data, Dynamo; Stuart Lynn, founder, TechNorthEast; Alexis Long, programme manager, Ignite; and Jonathan Symcox, editor, 老九品茶Cloud.
