Ocado Technology unveils London development centre

Online supermarket Ocado鈥檚 research and development arm Ocado Technology has announced its first development centre in London.

The new centre will support the growth of the Ocado Smart Platform, an operating system built specifically for use by online retail businesses.

The platform will be developed in the centre using AI, machine learning, big data and cloud platforms technology.

London will be the company鈥檚 sixth development centre, alongside its hubs in Hatfield, Bulgaria, Poland, and Spain.

Around forty professionals are expected to be based at the centre initially, but the firm anticipates upward of 300 software engineers, data scientists, UX designers, researchers and product managers will be based in The Office Group鈥檚 Old Street working space.
