Digital healthcare services partner Redmoor Health has appointed Matt Murphy as its new CEO.

Murphy, who has previously held several senior roles at EMIS聽Group, has been appointed following last year鈥檚聽鈥榮ignificant investment鈥 from private equity firm Palatine.

Chorley-based Redmoor Health was founded in 2017 by Marc Schmid and has become a trusted partner of the NHS for all things digital technology.

Murphy will succeed Schmid as CEO, who will be taking a more strategic role in the business.

Schmid said Murphy鈥檚 appointment was a landmark moment for Redmoor.

鈥淲e聽are thrilled to welcome Matt Murphy as our new CEO,鈥 he said. 鈥淲ith his proven track record of fostering the expansion of investor-backed companies, we are confident that Matt’s leadership will steer Redmoor Health towards new horizons of success.

鈥淥ur partnership with Palatine last year marked a pivotal moment for us, and Matt’s appointment further strengthens our commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions in the UK and beyond.

鈥淭ogether, we are poised to make strides in transforming healthcare and enhancing patient outcomes, solidifying Redmoor Health’s position as a trailblazer in the health and care sector.鈥

Murphy, who starts his new role at the start of September, said:聽鈥淵ou can tell a lot about Redmoor鈥檚 reputation from the level of interest they attracted when they went to the market to raise investment last year.

鈥淢y main priorities will be聽building the structure to support our ambitious growth plans聽and developing the team.

鈥淩edmoor is a people business that works in the technology space.聽Growing the team is critical to meet our future expectations.

鈥淚 like the founder story with Marc.聽Redmoor has got so much potential as a valuable partner of the NHS.聽I feel I can bring something to the table after my time at EMIS and Genba.鈥

Murphy鈥檚 last role was聽CEO for聽digital distribution company聽Genba Digital, which was acquired by聽Azerion聽in 2021.

He said: 鈥淲hen I joined聽Genba in 2017 my brief was to scale up and grow the business. The gross profit grew from 拢0.5m to over 拢8m by the start of 2023, whilst the team went from six to 35, and the client base trebled.鈥

鈥淢y time at EMIS gave me a聽fantastic understanding of primary care and wider community-based care,鈥 he said.

鈥淚t showed me what it takes to run a technology-business聽for聽the NHS, particularly primary care and community care.

鈥淵ou have to be dedicated, committed聽and work in partnership with the NHS because it鈥檚 complex and unpredictable. It鈥檚 a huge responsibility.”

During his time at EMIS, Murphy worked as managing director of EMIS Health and EMIS IQ and group strategy director of EMIS Group.
