Edinburgh-based digital display company Pufferfish has exceeded its 拢600,000 target in its latest funding round.
Pufferfish uses spherical displays to create immersive solutions for an impressive list of clients including Google, NASA, BBC, Fortum, Amazon Prime and Aramco.
The company will use the funding to accelerate its growth plans as it聽continues to lead in the market for interactive, multi-sensory and immersive spherical display experiences.
The bulk of the funding was secured聽from existing investors, including Scottish Enterprise and Par Equity, with additional funding coming from a small group of new private investors.
Elaine Van Der Berg, chief executive at Pufferfish, said:聽鈥淲e have a client list that reads like a who鈥檚 who of global brands, with the majority of the top ten biggest companies in the world utilising our innovative range of market leading products and services.
鈥淲e now have the investment needed to capitalise on new opportunities and transform our increasing momentum into scale.鈥
The current climate allows the company to target the market with its innovative technology, which delivers聽highly engaging experiences combining sound, vision, data and touch. This puts users at the centre of a digital experience, rather than just being an observer.
Pufferfish鈥檚 innovative display systems deliver highly interactive engagement and multi-sensory experiences聽for a range of uses and settings, including museums, science centres, planetariums, art exhibitions and other visitor attractions.
The tech firm will use the fresh injection of capital to maximise commercial opportunities, product innovation and exciting new product launches.
The company is in the process of launching upgraded versions of two of聽its core products 鈥 PufferSphere and PufferTouch – 聽which feature even sharper images and more powerful touch functionality.
Van Der Berg added: 鈥淭he new products will go 鈥榙eeper鈥 than we鈥檝e ever seen before in terms of driving interaction and engagement. They will provide an unparalleled and more personal one-to-one experience for users, offer a greater 鈥榳ow鈥 factor through size and scale, and allow users to step into another world created by immersive technology.
鈥淲e have the latest funding now secured and the beginnings of a new leadership team at the helm.
鈥淧ufferfish is primed and ready to continue to bolster its position as the聽market-leading end-to-end provider of spherical interactive displays and services.鈥
Andrew Castell, partner at Par Equity, said: 鈥淧ufferfish endured first the Covid-19 pandemic, which hit its core markets very hard, and then the ensuing disruption to global supply chains.
鈥淭hat it has survived is a testament to its people, the strong appeal that its products have to its blue-chip customer base and to some very hard work from the new executive team. With the support of its investors, the company can now face the future with confidence.鈥
Kerry Sharp, director of entrepreneurship and investment at Scottish Enterprise, said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 great to see Pufferfish emerging better than ever following the pandemic.
鈥淭hey鈥檙e on track for strong growth and our investment will help support the new management team as they exploit additional market opportunities and bring their technology to clients across the world 鈥 including some exciting new products in the pipeline.鈥
