North East start-upÌýBottlepay,Ìýbased atÌýHoults’ Yard in NewcastleÌýandÌýset up byÌýPartnerizeÌýco-founder Pete Cheyne,Ìýlaunched the app last month.Ìý
A single tweet — for example ‘@bottlepayÌýsend 1,000ÌýsatsÌý(the smallest unit of Bitcoin) to @twitteruser’ — will instantly move the specified quantity of Bitcoin from one user’s account to another.ÌýÌý
Unlike other digital payment platforms such as PayPal andÌýRevolut,Ìýwhose users cannot currently spend or withdraw their Bitcoin,ÌýBottlepayÌýmeans Bitcoin can be withdrawn, deposited or spent on tangible goods anywhere in the world with a single slide.ÌýÌý
However, Twitter isn’t the only social channel the app will support.Ìý
In the coming monthsÌýBottlepayÌýwill also allow users to spend and transfer money on Reddit, Discord, Twitch, Telegram and Mastodon.Ìý
