A Bristol DeepTech startup has won 拢4.8 million funding from the UK Space Agency to lead a space infrastructure project.
University of Bristol spinout iCOMAT provides patented light weighting solutions through pioneering technology across the aerospace, automotive and space industries.
Founded in 2019, it employs 27 people today and now plans to expand its workforce.
鈥淭hrough this investment, we enter an exciting new era for the business which brings an opportunity to grow our existing team,鈥� said Rony Seamons, head of people operations.
鈥淲hen fully operational, we expect to bring an additional 60 high-value roles to the company to help drive production.
鈥淲e have also made plans to engage with local learning providers so we can continue to provide exciting career paths for those leaving education in the region.鈥�
iCOMAT is part of the Natwest Accelerator Hub in Trinity Quay, something which Seamons credits as 鈥渁 key part of the growth of the business and for myself on a personal level as a former accelerator manager鈥�.
