Starling Bank has confirmed its new location in the North with the creation of 1,000 new hires in ops, engineering, data science and cybersecurity.
The challenger bank has signed a 10-year lease on 14,000 sq ft at the Landmark building in Manchester city centre.

Starling Bank say hiring to fill the 1,000 new roles is already well underway and says positions are available for seasoned tech professionals and new graduates.
Susanna Yallop, chief people officer at at Starling Bank, said: 鈥淲e鈥檝e had some outstanding applications for our roles in Manchester already, affirming the city鈥檚 place as the tech capital of the North.

The neobank say Landmark’s sustainable design aligns with their own position as a net-zero bank, and was a key factor in our decision.
The office runs on green energy, is built with sustainable materials, encourages employees to make greener transport decisions, and is home to two bee hives which each contain approximately 80,000 worker bees during the summer.
The strategic move follows Starling鈥檚 first full year of profitability, reaching the milestone of three million accounts and launching Engine by Starling, a software-as-a-service offering.
The new Manchester base will complement existing offices in London, Cardiff, Southampton and Dublin, which currently house more than 2,000 employees.
