Tech firm relocates HQ to Manchester to accelerate growth

Technology

Fluid Digital is celebrating after signing a lease on a new Manchester City Centre headquarters.

The聽eCommerce agency鈥檚 move is part of ambitious plans to reach annual revenues of almost 拢2.3 million, which would signal growth of 40 per cent.

Fluid, which is on course to surpass the 拢1m revenue mark this financial year, is investing more than 拢250,000 in the new Northern Quarter office.

It will see the whole 21-strong Fluid team based in Manchester for the first time.

Previously only Fluid鈥檚 pay-per-click and social media advertising teams were based in Manchester Piccadilly with the Magento development and client services teams housed in its old Bury HQ.

Adam Hindle, managing director at Fluid, said as the company planned to increase revenue by 40 per cent year-on-year the time was now right to move to Manchester City Centre to support this growth and reach 拢2.3m聽annual revenues by 2021.

鈥淲ith us winning bigger and bigger projects and growing our head count, attracting the right talent to Bury was becoming a challenge, especially when the eCommerce talent pool is small,鈥 Hindle said.

鈥淥ur plan is to take our annual revenue over the 拢2 million mark in the next three years but to realise that growth recruitment will be key due to the rate we are likely to require new staff.

鈥淚 felt we would be in a better position to meet this challenge with a Manchester city centre HQ. It will also offer an improved environment for current staff with all the amenities the area offers and transport links.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a very exciting time for Fluid and the eCommerce sector as a whole. Both B2C and B2B businesses are grasping just how important eCommerce is to their success and why having the right digital partner is vital.鈥

Designed by Atul Bansal at Sheila Bird Group, the 2,500-square foot office is at 18 Hilton Street in the Northern Quarter. It has been completely refurbished by Fluid with a new kitchen, meeting rooms, bar and staff area added with modern and funky d茅cor.

As well as helping to drive Fluid鈥檚 predicted revenue growth the city centre location will also provide better transport links to London for its growing client list who are based in the south.
