Tech veteran Andrew Ellam has joined London-based Climate X from online bank Monzo.
Climate X is an award-winning global climate risk data and analytics provider and Ellam joins the senior leadership as VP of technology.
He was previously the chief of staff to CTO and head of technical program management at Monzo Bank.
Ellam has worked in firms at all stages of growth, including venture-funded start-ups, growth-phase scaleups and large tech companies such as Amazon and Facebook.
Explaining what persuaded him to leave Monzo Bank he said: 鈥淔or me, climate change is the biggest threat facing our generation and future generations.
鈥淚鈥檝e joined Climate X with a shared vision to provide the insights firms need to help improve things 鈥 to build a climate-resilient economy that can withstand the challenges ahead.
鈥淥ver the past year at Monzo, I have been closely involved with the regulatory aspect of large-scale tech deployments. With this experience, I am now bringing my skills to an area that I believe the tech industry should focus its energy on climate change.鈥
Ellam has an MBA from London 老九品茶 School and recently served on UK Finance鈥檚 Digital, Technology and Cyber Security Products and Services Board.
