The 20 most promising young founders across Europe, assembled by aÌýhigh-profileÌýpanel ofÌýentrepreneurs, investors and advisors, includesÌýnineÌýfigures from the UK, with Estonia following on five.Ìý

Each entrepreneur will receive tailored mentoring and £1 million worth of fee-free transfersÌýfrom TransferWiseÌýto take their business global.Ìý

Overall, the competition saw an increase of 300% in applicants from last year. Almost 50% of applicantsÌýwere female founders and 66% of applicants from minority backgrounds.ÌýÌý

Henri Pihelgas,ÌýofÌýEstonia, co-founder ofÌýDeepPeat. What started as research for a school paper regarding sea contaminationÌýled to the 18-year-oldÌýbuildingÌýa startup looking to clean the oceans from oil spills in a new efficient and sustainable way.ÌýDeepPeatÌýproduces reusable and eco-friendly peat-based mats which absorb 5-10 times more oil than current solutions and offer to repurpose the collected oil.Ìý
