United Utilities has launched a new version of its app which allows users to report a leak.
The first version of the water service company鈥檚 app brought account management functionality to its customers, allowing them to submit meter readings, and make payments and has received 97,000 payments, amounting to 拢4.1 million.
鈥淥ur innovative 鈥楻eport a Leak鈥 function allows users to take a picture of a leak with their device, and using Google Maps integration, the exact location can be pin-pointed by our team,鈥 explained Denise Maskew, Customer Digital Manager for United Utilities.
鈥淲e鈥檙e thrilled with the uptake of our app so far 鈥 which has contributed to increasing our digital customer base by 146,000. We hope this helps to further build those key engagements with our customers.鈥
United Utilities partnered with Manchester-based mobile technology company Apadmi to develop the app.
鈥淪ince launch, the United Utilities app has added a whole new dimension to their offering 鈥 but this is just the start,鈥 commented Nick Black, Chief Commercial Officer for Apadmi.
鈥淲e鈥檝e developed a clear technology roadmap in accordance with their business goals and already identified a series of key features for growth that will help take the app to the next level, providing services not currently offered by other water providers.鈥
