The West Midlands听has been appointed to Innovate Finance鈥檚听FinTech National Network after听global investment bank Goldman Sachs revealed plans to establish a major new tech function in听Birmingham.

The FinTech National Network brings together regional clusters up and down the country to encourage collaboration听and 鈥榣evel up鈥 FinTech in the UK.

Spearheading the West Midlands鈥 presence on the Network is听SuperTech听鈥 the UK鈥檚 first professional services technology supercluster听with a focus on听FinTech,听LegalTech,听PropTech听and听InsurTech.

鈥淲e are delighted that听SuperTech听is joining the FinTech National Network and look forward to working with the West Midlands, alongside the other Network members, to drive the domestic FinTech agenda in the UK,鈥 said听Charlotte Crosswell, CEO at Innovate Finance.

Goldman Sachs鈥 investment is set to听create听several hundred jobs.听The investment bank鈥檚 decision was the result of a rigorous site selection process, which favoured the city as a strategic location for expansion because of its deep-rooted talent pool;听strong leadership in technology and related industries; and听proximity to London.听听
