A听new thermal scanner which accurately reads the skin temperature of up to six people at once, has launched in the UK following 拢3 million investment in research and development (R&D).听听
The听Thermavis听Multi-Person Thermal Scanner听has been designed to help businesses and organisations quickly and efficiently detect individuals who are carrying a fever 鈥� one of the primary symptoms of Covid-19.听
拢3m has been invested in research and development to create temperature-check products to support NHS hospitals, front-line workers following the lifting of lockdown.听
The听multi-person thermal scanner听is a non-intrusive thermal camera which is no larger than an iPhone. Its creators say it听uses听AI听to take a reading, in real time, of multiple bodies听with an accuracy of 0.5掳颁.听
Thermavis听comes with a tablet computer but can also be linked to any Windows machine 鈥� allowing multiple monitoring points, remote access, cloud connectivity, and shareable screens.听
The camera takes a primary reading from the tear duct, the area of the face which gives the most accurate reading and is least likely to be impacted by body heat听anomalies, or听obscured by face masks.听
听It takes a secondary reading from the forehead to accommodate glasses wearers.听
