Adact Medical, a Doncaster-based compliance agency,聽is helping spread the festive cheer this Christmas by donating 拢1000 to local charity FireFly.
FireFly provides free transport to Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield for cancer patients and their families and is one of the聽Doncaster Council鈥檚 Civic Mayor, Councillor George Derx鈥檚, chosen charities.
Adact Medical, as members of the UK Vaping Industry Association (UKVIA), are leaders in European testing and compliance in the vaping sector.
The Doncaster organisation鈥檚 vision is to inform the public of trusted health evidence of vaping products that enable people to make informed, healthier lifestyle choices.
The nature of FireFly鈥檚 work, giving cancer patients vital transport access so they can attend treatment centres, fits exactly with Adact Medical鈥檚 goals.
Adact Medical plays a vital part in regulation in the vaping sector which is in turn playing a significant role in reducing smoking-related cancer.
Back in 2015, Public Health England and Cancer Research UK signed a joint statement on vaping which highlighted the public health opportunity for smokers to change to vaping products, estimating that e-cigarettes are at least 95 per cent聽less harmful than regular cigarettes.
Councillor George Derx said: 鈥淔irefly is one of the charities that I have chosen to support during my year in office so I am delighted to accept this very generous donation from Adact Medical.鈥�
Robert Sidebottom, managing director of Adact Medical said: 鈥淭he opportunity to present this award to FireFly this Christmas is a privilege, as it allows us to say thank you for the support they gave our founder Damien Bove鈥檚 father-in-law George, in taking him to hospital during his cancer treatment.鈥�
