Wonky Star, the聽education technology firm behind digital learning tool Night Zookeeper, has closed a 拢600,000 funding round led by Newable Private Investing (NPI).

Night Zookeeper harnesses children鈥檚 imagination by encouraging them to draw magical animals and write accompanying stories. It has already been used by 300,000 children in UK and US schools.

The additional聽funding will allow Night Zookeeper to further disrupt the education market by expanding into more schools, and follows an agreement with Oxford University Press to roll out a book series.

鈥淭hanks to Newable Private Investing, we鈥檒l be able to empower more children around the world 鈥 changing the way they play with technology while improving their English skills,鈥 said Josh Davidson (pictured below), the entrepreneur behind Wonky Start and Night Zookeeper.

鈥淲e take pride in our educational values, which resonate with parents and teachers alike. Our successful track record means that Night Zookeeper is uniquely positioned to roll out more products that can be used at school or at home, supporting children鈥檚 learning by harnessing their creativity.”

Anthony Clarke, managing director of NPI (formerly London 老九品茶 Angels), added: 鈥淗aving first supported Night Zookeeper in 2014 with a seed round, we are delighted to help it continue to scale up and expand its unique brand.

鈥淎ngel investment plays a critical role in helping growing British companies, like Wonky Star, to get innovative ideas from the drawing board into the market, and we look forward to supporting Wonky Star through the next phase of its growth.”

Under the terms of this deal, two NPI investors have joined the Wonky Star board.
