Edtech firm moves into Translation & Innovation Hub

Edtech聽firm AVADO has moved into the Translation & Innovation Hub at Imperial College London鈥檚 White City Campus.

AVADO runs international digital learning programmes for companies including GSK, HSBC, Vodafone, TalkTalk and Dentsu Aegis.

It is joined at the 23-acre research and innovation district in West London by the staff who run Squared Online, the award-winning digital marketing leadership course developed with Google; and staff from Arch Apprentices, the UK leader in digital apprenticeships, whose clients include Google, John Lewis and Barclays.

The 13-storey I-HUB which will help to translate innovation and research into new products and services by co-locating businesses, major corporations, start-ups and entrepreneurs alongside Imperial鈥檚 academic community.

AVADO joins other exciting tech companies on campus, such as BBC Research and Development, which explores technology for the BBC’s future, DNA Electronics and the Mapi Group.

Other tenants include award-winning workspace provider Central Working, with new members OGCI Climate Investments 鈥 a start-up with $1bn of funding to invest in technology to accelerate the development of emission reduction technology and OmTV, creators of entertainment and factual television formats for the UK and global markets.

This is a move that will put one of the world鈥檚 leading universities together with a global digital learning leader and signals the potential of the first stage of an exciting, new partnership.

Dr Eulian Roberts, chief executive of Imperial College London ThinkSpace, added: 鈥淎t White City, Imperial鈥檚 world leading researchers, entrepreneurs, corporations and higher education partners will work alongside each other to create a new model for a 21st century university campus.
