England legend John Barnes has warned that technology could disrupt our international stars at Euro 2016.
England are preparing for their crucial final Group B game against Slovakia on Monday night knowing a victory will see them top the table.
However Barnes, who won 79 caps in an illustrious career, said tech could undermine England boss Roy Hodgson if it is allowed in the camp.
鈥淚 think it could be a distraction because players spend all their time on the phone now, tweeting,鈥 he said.
鈥淧layers shouldn鈥檛 give opinions about what they think because it will undermine the manager.
鈥淭here should be one voice coming out 鈥 it is supposed to be a tightknit, harmonious situation.鈥
Liverpool hero Barnes has little sympathy with the suggestion that tech could help limit the effects of cabin fever during a prolonged tournament.
鈥淧layers can go swimming, play table tennis or pool, or talk to each other,鈥 he said.
鈥淧layers could be on their phones 24 hours a day when they should be resting.
鈥淔rom a sporting perspective, I鈥檓 definitely not a fan of it.鈥
Premier League players have come under fire for light-hearted posts following defeats.
鈥淲e saw it with the Manchester United players against West Ham. After losing the game they were criticised for posting videos,鈥 he added.
鈥淚n my day video phones would not have been a good idea, with players going out on a Saturday night.
鈥淚鈥檓 glad it wasn鈥檛 around in my day!鈥
