Football travel firm Homefans has hit 74 per cent of an equity crowdfunding target within a fortnight.

The company, which is based in Cheshire and has an office聽in聽the Netherlands,聽organises group trips to high-profile games, with unique experiences beyond the 90 minutes.

Customers meet locals, go to pub nights and even play football at the club鈥檚 official training pitch.

Looking for 拢100,000 on Crowdcube, it has reached 拢74,000 so far.

Co-founders Luke Verbeek and Daniel Vel谩squez came up with the idea after their personal experiences and frustration with football travelling.

鈥淲e鈥檙e not a standard football package provider 鈥 we put a lot of effort on creating unique experiences and bring like-minded fans together to experience football the local way,鈥 said Verbeek.

After taking more than 250 travellers from six different countries across聽Europe for the past 10 months, Homefans decided to launch its聽crowdfunding campaign.

Vel谩squez said: 鈥淲e have a handful of new experiences in place like a trip to Argentina or long football weekends on the road across different destinations.

鈥淭he crowdfunding campaign will help us launch them, scale up and, especially, involve the community to become a part of this journey.鈥

In just two weeks, the company has secured 74 per cent of the investment and plans to hit the target and overfund.

Homefans is collaborating directly with professional football clubs.
