A digital agency half-owned by Manchester United legend Gary Neville has fought off stiff competition to redesign the website of London’s South Bank.

Manchester-based e3creative won the tender ahead of 49 other agencies, including several from abroad.

It will help Londoners and tourists organise their visit to the cultural district, which includes the London Eye, Southbank Centre, SEA LIFE London Aquarium and National Theatre, through a 鈥渞evolutionary online platform鈥.

Sky Sports pundit Neville bought into award-winning e3creative, which was founded in 2010 and counts Ascot among its clients, last November.

鈥淲e believe in their ability to deliver our vision for a new destination website,鈥 said Claudio Giambrone, head of marketing for South Bank London.

鈥淲e were extremely impressed with their technical skills, eye for striking design, and, perhaps most importantly, unfettered enthusiasm for this new challenge.”

The South Bank welcomes 20 million visitors per year and boasts some of the capital鈥檚 most attractive festivals, designer shops and restaurants.

e3creative managing director Jake Welsh said: 鈥淲e are absolutely delighted to be joining hands with South Bank London and to have the creative freedom to work with one of London鈥檚 top cultural and tourism districts.

鈥淥ur team鈥檚 strategies are always focused towards creating cutting-edge digital solutions that ultimately enhance the user experience.

鈥淲e look forward to applying modern technologies, to create a frontline digital hub for South Bank, with clean and interactive elements geared at strengthening user鈥檚 journeys.鈥

The revamped website will be finished by the end of the year and help visitors personalise their time on the South Bank.
