Manchester-based property investment platform Mr Investa has officially closed after four and a half years in business.

Founder Ryan Hughes announced the news in an emotional LinkedIn post, revealing the toll the past 19 months have taken on his mental health.

鈥淚 am absolutely devastated,鈥 he wrote. 鈥淎fter four and a half years, I鈥檝e made the incredibly tough and sad decision to close Mr Investa.聽

鈥淪miling on the outside, hurting on the inside – that鈥檚 been my reality for the past 19 months.鈥

Founded in 2020 and based in Salford鈥檚 MediaCity, Mr Investa aimed to simplify buy-to-let investing through technology.聽

The platform connected landlords, agents and investors, offering virtual viewings, digital offers and management tools.聽

It quickly built a reputation as one of the North West鈥檚 most innovative PropTech startups, attracting funding and a loyal customer base, as well as gaining a spot on 叠耻蝉颈苍别蝉蝉颁濒辞耻诲鈥檚 PropTech 50 as recently as September.聽

In June, the company brought in former Social Chain managing director Katie Leeson as a non-executive director.

At the time, Hughes said she was the first of what was to be a number of high-profile appointments at the business.

In his post, Hughes reflected on the personal struggles behind the business journey, adding: 鈥淭he truth is, this last chapter nearly broke me鈥 the stress, the pressure, and the constant fight just felt too much.聽

鈥淚 kept pushing because I didn鈥檛 want to let people down – the customers who trusted us, the partners who backed us, and the friends and family who believed in me.鈥

He described enduring 鈥渄aily panic attacks鈥 and sleepless nights replaying decisions and searching for solutions.聽

鈥淭hat side of entrepreneurship rarely gets spoken about, but it鈥檚 real,鈥 he continued.聽

鈥淟iving it has given me a new level of respect for every business owner out there who keeps showing up despite the battles no one else sees.

鈥淚t taught me resilience, perspective, and humility. I put my blood, sweat and tears into this business.聽

鈥淭his chapter closes, but the story doesn鈥檛 end here.鈥
