Sci-Tech Daresbury Campus generates 拢130m in sales

The Liverpool City Region science and tech campus, Sci-Tech Daresbury has revealed that in 2018 its 112 businesses collectively produced more than 拢130m in sales.

Home to more than 140 companies, Sci-Tech Daresbury is a private-public joint-venture partnership between developer Langtree, the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) and Halton Borough Council, attracting some of the best scientific and technology talent with a net increase of 112 FTE jobs in 2018.

Its annual tenants survey showed 64 per cent saw sales growth, with 73 per cent trading outside the UK, up 62 per cent on 2017.

Europe accounted for more than half of exported sales and North America accounted for more than a quarter.

鈥淭he creation of more than 100 FTE jobs on site over the last 12 months is fantastic and demonstrates the rich talent pool of skills available right on our doorstep,鈥 said Group Executive of Langtree and Chair of Sci-Tech Daresbury John Downes.

鈥淭he skills and talents of these workers are critical for companies based on the campus and will help to drive Sci-Tech Daresbury鈥檚 ongoing success.

鈥淚t鈥檚 also encouraging to see the increase in international sales and the breadth and influence of Sci-Tech Daresbury companies across the globe.

Software firm enjoyed significant growth since setting up business at the campus in 2016.

Its 23-strong team has accelerated annual turnover from 拢608,000 to 拢1,700,000 million since its move to the campus and is projected to further increase its turnover to 拢2.2 million for the 2019/2020 financial year.
