Serial entrepreneur Martin Port says he鈥檚 lost none of his enthusiasm despite a change of role and a 拢75 million investment earlier this year.

Leeds-based BigChange received the majority investment from US-based VC Great Hill Partners in a deal that valued the company at more than 拢100m.

Port has since done a job swap with Richard Warley, who joined the business as chairman at the start of 2021聽and is now the CEO.

In an interview with our sister website TechBlast, Port says: 鈥淓very morning I wake up with a real passion and want to set the world alight. I love walking the shop floor.鈥

Explaining his change of role, he adds: 鈥淚 recognised I wanted to bring a new team that could lead the business through the next generation and I recognised that I wasn鈥檛 the best person to lead the team day-to-day.

鈥淚 had a chairman in Richard who was incredibly supportive and I said 鈥榶ou would make a better CEO and I would make a better chairman鈥 so we swapped roles.

鈥淚t is our hope that, together, we can help聽BigChange聽to reach unicorn status in just a few years. We currently employ over 200 people around the world, and we hope to take that figure to 500 people.
