Travel聽comparison site Skyscanner has acquired social content start-up Twizoo on undisclosed terms.

The London-based start-up lets brands take relevant comments聽from other platforms and inject them onto their own sites – for example, a hotel could聽take a review of their services from Twitter.

The company鈥檚聽artificial intelligence system looks at the account before using the review聽to make sure it鈥檚 a real account.

The move is Edinburgh-headquartered Skyscanner鈥檚 first deal since being acquired itself by one of China鈥檚 biggest online travel companies Ctrip last year for 拢1.4bn.

Skyscanner鈥檚 CTO Bryan Dove, said in a statement: 鈥淪kyscanner aims to serve all traveller needs, from inspiration through to planning and booking.

鈥淭wizoo鈥檚 technology surfaces customer opinions from social media, providing real value to traveller decision making.

“We鈥檙e delighted to have the highly talented Twizoo team join us.鈥

The six-strong team at Twizoo have moved into Skyscanner鈥檚 London office.

Twizoo CEO and co-founder Madeline Parra said: 鈥淪kyscanner is built by travellers, for travellers.

鈥淭heir emphasis on authenticity and transparency reflect Twizoo鈥檚 own values.

鈥淭ravel is inherently social and we鈥檙e excited to work with the Skyscanner team to integrate our technology into their world-class travel search products, giving travellers invaluable insight through user generated content shared on social media.鈥
