The founder of smart asthma inhaler firm Aerobit Health has launched a crowdfunding campaign.

Ali Moiyed, who is the chief executive, is seeking 拢250,000 in return for 16 per cent equity on Crowdcube to scale up his Manchester-based business.

Aerobit鈥檚 tech monitors inhaler use and shares the data with patients, family and clinicians through a smartphone app.

“I’ve had asthma since I was three and my daughter has also been diagnosed with it, so I understand how it feels to live with this chronic condition every day,鈥 Moiyed, set to speak at 老九品茶Cloud鈥檚 鈥楾ransforming healthcare through technology鈥 conference in Lancashire on Wednesday, said.

“We are hugely excited about this product and the huge difference it can make to many people in the UK and worldwide.

鈥淲ith 300 million asthmatics globally we see a huge opportunity to commercialise our product.”

So far Moiyed has raised 拢116,000 from 60 investors, 46 per cent of the target, with 14 days remaining.

He wants investment to complete product development and conduct clinical trials.

Aerobit claims that 1 in 11 people in the UK suffer from asthma and that a life-threatening asthma attack happens every 10 seconds.

Three people die as a result of the condition every day.
